This conference seeks to showcase leading examples of current work in ancient philosophy that engages (in content or in method) with contemporary philosophy, as well as work in contemporary philosophy that significantly draws on ancient philosophical ideas. The theme of the conference will thus accord closely with that of the journal Ancient Philosophy Today: DIALOGOI.
PhD students and early-career philosophers are invited to submit an abstract of up to 1,000 words on a presentation topic that accords with the theme of the conference by 31 January 2026.
Abstracts will be blind reviewed by an assessment committee. Two will be selected for presentation at the conference. The committee’s decision will be notified by 1 March 2026.
The conference will fund accommodation (including breakfast) in Corpus Christi for the nights of 28th and 29th June and contribute £100 towards travel and other costs of the chosen presenters.
To be considered, please submit your abstract through our Google Form (requires a Google account) or email your name, affiliation, presentation title, and submission file (PDF or DOCX) to christopher.holland@slu.edu. Please attest to your status as a PhD candidate or early-career academic in your email and use the subject line: 2026 Philosophising with the Greats Submission.
